Indictment for Murders in Kozarac Confirmed

The indictment alleges that Alukic participated, along with five other persons, in the murder of one civilian on the trunk road between Prijedor and Banja Luka on August 29, 1992.
“They came out of the woods on Mount Kozara in late afternoon. They arrived in Kozarac village. Five or ten minutes later a car, Zastava 750 model, passed by them. It was driven by B.O. from Prijedor. They began shooting at the car and killed the driver. After that they set the car on fire, while the driver’s body was still in it,” the indictment alleges.
It further alleges that, on that same day Alukic and Hirkic, who were accompanied by seven other persons, shot at Serb houses in Podgradje hamlet, Prijedor municipality.
“The houses were about 40 metres away from each other. Cursing their Serbian mothers, they shot at the houses from fire arms, killing one civilian. After that they set the house on fire leaving the body inside the house,” the indictment alleges.
Alukic and Hirkic are due to enter their plea within the next 15 days.
