The Prosecution charges Beganovic, former member of the Fourth Brigade with the National Defence of the western Bosnia Autonomous Region, with having treated the civilian population in an inhumane manner and tried to rape a minor in December 1993.
The indictment alleges that Beganovic, Hazim Keranovic, who has since died, and Amir Coralic, who is not available to prosecutorial bodies, physically abused Ferid Covic, because his son Enes was allegedly a member of the Fifth Corps with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the charges, Beganovic, who was accompanied by Keranovic and Coralic, forcibly took two minors out of a house and drove them to Trzac village.
The indictment further alleges that he took one of the minors out of the car and began tearing her clothes off in order to rape her, but Hazim Keranovic prevented him from doing it. It is alleged that, following grave sexual abuse, Amir Coralic forced the other minor to have sexual intercourse with him.
Indictee Beganovic, who has the citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Denmark, came from Denmark in order to attend the plea hearing.
The trial beginning date will be set at a later stage.
