Also, the Prosecutor included the Law on Internal Affairs in the case file.

“Article 37 says that training units, such as the Centre on Mount Jahorina, are considered regular units. Members of such units are authorised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, MUP,” the Prosecutor said.

The indictment alleges that Neskovic and Ilic were members of the Jahorina Training Centre with the Special Police Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP of RS.

The Defence of the indictees responded to a revised indictment filed by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“New charges against my client have been added to the second count. This is not a revised, but an expanded indictment,” said Defence attorney Vesna Tupajic-Skiljevic.

Ilic’s Defence attorney Milos Peric said that the revised indictment was unclear and imprecise, adding that the Prosecutor gave up the first count against Ilic. Under that count, Neskovic and Ilic were charged with having searched Bosniak houses following the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995 with the aim of escorting the local population to the United Nations Base in Potocari.

In addition, the indictees are charged with having participated in the capture of Bosniaks, whom they took to the Agricultural Co-operative in Kravica, near Bratunac, where about one thousand of them were killed.

It is alleged that Ilic shot at the men, who had been previously shot, from an automatic gun, while two members of the Centre killed two prisoners, acting on Neskovic’s orders.

The trial is due to continue on July 20, when the last pieces of the Defence’s evidence will be presented.
