The Prosecution and Defence filed their written closing statements with the Trial Chamber. Presenting his closing statement, the indictee said that he performed his police job during the war in a fair manner.

“I would like to say most sincerely that this indictment will remain a black stain in my life and that my three children will remain labeled and bear immense consequences. I performed my police job in a fair manner. All Tesanj citizens, irrespective of their ethnicity, can confirm that. I believe in God and I believe that the Court will pronounce a fair verdict,” Krkalic said.

The Zenica Cantonal Prosecution charges Krkalic, former policeman with the Public Safety Station in Tesanj, with having mistreated Serb civilians, while examining them about weapons possession, in June and July 1992. Dz.S
