The retrial for crimes committed at Koricanske stijene should started on January 13, but the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided that the trial is postponed until further notice.

“The beginning of the trial before the Appellate Chamber in the case of Zoran Babic at al has been postponed for the health reasons of Zoran Babic and Zeljko Stojnic. A new date will be determined later”, stated from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On December 21, 2010, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina brought the first instance verdict by which Zoran Babic and Milorad Skrbic, former members of the Interventions Squad with the Public Safety Station in Prijedor, were sentenced to 22 years’ imprisonment and Zeljko Stojnic, member of the same Squad, to 15 years in prison for the murder of more than 150 male civilians committed at Koricanske stijene on August 21, 1992.

By the same verdict, Dusan Jankovic, former Commander of the Public Safety Station in Prijedor, is guilty of having ordered the murders on Mount Vlasic, sentencing him to 27 years in prison. Jankovic failed to appear at the pronouncement of the first instance verdict. A warrant against Jankovic has been issued.

The Trial Chamber of the Court of Bosnia acquitted Milorad Radakovic of involvement in the planning, allocation and murder of civilians at Koricanske stijene.

In October this year, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina presented its appeal to this verdict, requesting the Appellate Chamber to sentence Babic, Skrbic and Jankovic to long-term imprisonment and Stojnic to longer imprisonment. It further said that it considered that
Radakovic committed the crimes charged upon him.

The Defence of the indictees, excluding Radakovic, filed an appeal on the first instance verdict, in most cases due to violation of criminal procedure, Criminal Code, decision on sentencing, and erroneous and incomplete facts, and demanded the revocation of the verdict.

After the appeals were presented, the Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 26, 2011, revoked the first instance verdict and ordered a renewed trial.
