Larger Funds Needed for War Crimes Processing

Larger funds to support processing of war crimes by prosecutions and courts are needed – this conclusion was reached at a meeting of representatives of judicial institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“One of the key topics discussed at the meeting was financing of war crimes processing and the needs of prosecutors’ offices in terms of human resources, accommodation capacities and other segments of support,” the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, HJPC of Bosnia and Herzegovina said.

HJPC President Milorad Novkovic convened the mentioned meeting, held on Tuesday, December 10, with all chief prosecutors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, presidents of the Supreme courts of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska and a representative of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting participants expressed their support to the efforts invested in the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance, IPA process in the period from 2012 to 2013 in regard to funds aimed at financing judicial sector projects related to processing of war crimes cases and solving of accommodation problems.
