“Honourable Court, I plead not guilty,” said Zurahid Mujcinovic and Sulejman Hrustic.

According to the charges, Mujcinovic and Hrustic, former members of the 21st Srebrenik Mountain Brigade with the ABiH, treated Serb civilians, who were detained in the Youth Centre building in Rapatnica village, Srebrenik municipality, in an inhumane manner in July and August 1992.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina alleges that, acting on his own, Mujcinovic “physically and mentally abused a prisoner several times”, and participated, together with Hrustic, in the abuse of another prisoner, causing him severe suffering on several occasions.

Mujcinovic and Hrustic are defending themselves while at liberty. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the indictment against them on May 17 this year.

Preliminary hearing judge Minka Kreho said that this case would be transferred to the Trial Chamber, which will schedule the beginning of the trial in between 30 and 60 days.
