Zoran Bozic, the judge in the hearing at the BiH Court who heard the second and third indictees deny guilt, stated that upon Markovic’s Defence a court medical examination will be held.

“Jelena Todic, Marovic’s defence attorney submitted to the Court an explanation notice and medical documentation declaring that he is not able to come to the hearing due to his serious medical condition,” added Bozic.

According to the indictment, Goran Markovic and Mladen Milic, former members of “VP 7551 Banja Luka” and Ljubisa Vranjes, former member of the Public Security Centre in Banja Luka participated in the murder of two persons in June 1992 in Kotor Varos.

The BiH Prosecution believes that the indictees on 6 June 1992 came to the house “armed with automatic rifles” in which three imprisoned civilians were held, and ordered them to come with them in order to be interrogated, which they obeyed.

“After they brought civilians to the Kotor Varos Municipality building, Markovic ordered them to walk toward the monument commemorating fallen combatants from the Second World War, and shortly after start shooting at them,” reads the indictment.

On that occasion, two civilians were killed while the third person was severely injured but managed to escape, claims the BiH Prosecution.

Markovic, Vranjes and Milic are defending themselves at liberty.

Marko Skobic, former member of Croatian Defence Council (HVO) was convicted in front of the BiH Court in July 2009 for nine years’ imprisonment for crimes committed in the Kotor Varos area.
