Dragan Crnogorac Pleads not Guilty

Dragan Crnogorac, who is charged with crimes against humanity in the Srebrenica area, has pleaded not guilty before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“I plead not guilty,” Crnogorac said appearing before preliminary hearing judge Mira Smajlovic.
 
The State Prosecution charges Crnogorac, as member of the Jahorina Training Centre with the Special Brigade of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP RS, with having participated in the search of Bosniak houses in Budak village on July 12, 1995 with the aim of gathering local residents and taking them to the UN Base in Potocari.
 
According to the charges, Crnogorac participated in the capture of the Bosniak population on July 13, 1995 and shot between five and seven captured men on that same evening.
 
The Court confirmed the indictment against him on December 3 this year.
 
The trial is due to begin in between 30 and 60 days.
