The indictment alleges that Goran Markovic and Mladen Milic, members of “7551 Military Post stationed in Banja Luka” and Ljubisa Vranjes, member of the Safety Services Center in Banja Luka, participated in the murder of two people in Kotor-Varos in June 1992.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina considers that on June 6, 1992, the indictees came, “armed with automatic rifles”, to a house where three civilians were held as prisoners and ordered the three to come with them for an examination. The civilians carried out the order.

“After having brought the civilians to Kotor-Varos municipality building, Markovic ordered them to go to a monument erected in honour of the fallen soldiers from the Second World War, and shot them a short time later,” the indictment alleges.

The Prosecution alleges that two civilians were killed, while the third person suffered severe bodily injuries but managed to escape.

Markovic, Vranjes and Milic are defending themselves while at liberty.

In July 2009 the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rendered a second instance verdict sentencing Marko Skrobic, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, to nine years in prison for crimes committed in the Kotor-Varos area.
