Former soldier Rade Garic was charged with persecuting Bosniaks by committing murders, torture, rape and other crimes in the Vlasenica and Srebrenica areas in 1992 and 1995. The state court in Sarajevo on Friday confirmed the indictment of Rade Garic, the former commander of the Interventions Squad of the Bosnian Serb Army’s Vlasenica Brigade, for crimes against humanity.

The former commander of the Bosnian Army’s Zulfikar Squad, Nihad Bojadzic, was convicted of rape and other crimes against Croat civilians and prisoners of war in Jablanica in 1993. The appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court on Friday found Nihad Bojadzic of committing rape together with another member of the Bosnian Army in Jablanica in 1993.

The Bosnian state court sentenced three former members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina to a total of 16 years in prison for raping a Serb girl in Sarajevo in 1993. The state court on Thursday sentenced Elvir Muminovic to six years in prison and Samir Kesmer and Mirsad Menzilovic to five years in prison each for raping a girl in Sarajevo’s Velesici district in 1993.

Testifying at the rape trial of former Bosnian Serb serviceman Milomir Davidovic, the first witness described how a soldier sexually assaulted her while she was a captive in Foca in 1992. Protected witness S-1, who testified with her face and voice disguised, told Milomir Davidovic’s trial at the Bosnian state court on Thursday how she was raped in an apartment in the south-eastern town of Foca in July 1992.

Former Bosnian Serb Army serviceman Sasa Curcic was arrested on suspicion of raping and sexually abusing a Bosniak victim in the south-eastern town of Foca during wartime in 1992 Bosnia’s State Investigation and Protection Agency on Wednesday arrested Sasa Curcic, who is suspected of committing a crime against humanity in the Foca area in the summer of 1992. The state prosecution suspects that Curcic, in his capacity as a Bosnian Serb Army soldier, raped and sexually abused his Bosniak victim using threats and force.
