Witnesses appearing at trials held before judicial institutions in Bihac will receive expert support in the future this was said during a ceremony to mark the beginning of work of the Witness Support Section with the Cantonal Court and Prosecution of Una-Sana Canton, USC.

The Medica non-governmental organization from Zenica has established in Bihac a network aiming at providing support to witnesses of war crimes, sexual violence and other crimes during and after their testimonies.

A Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Witness Support Section with judicial institutions in the Una-Sana Canton was signed in Bihac today.

In the last year the Cantonal Court in Bihac completed nine war crimes cases, making it one of the most efficient courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina that was the claim made at a press conference in Bihac.

The Cantonal Court in Bihac pronounces Lazar Ristic and Predrag Devic guilty of crimes committed in Sanski Most, sentencing them to a total of 32 years imprisonment in a first instance verdict.
