The verdict against Edin Dzeko, who is charged with crimes against Croats in Trusina village, near Konjic and Jablanica, is due to be pronounced on June 6, the Trial Chamber announced following the presentation of the Defences closing statement.

Nihad Bojadzic told the trial for crimes in Trusina (Konjic municipality) that he has never participated in action with Rasema Handanovic, convicted for the execution of six Croats in Trusina.

The defence for former Bosnian Army soldier Edin Dzeko, charged with executing six Croats in 1993, said that witnesses who accused him of the killings were lying to avoid prosecution.

Nihad Bojadzic, the former deputy commander of the Bosnian Armys Zulfikar Squad, said that he was not told about an attack on the village of Trusina, where 22 Croats were killed.

The Bosnian State Prosecution, in its closing arguments, called for former Bosnian Army fighter Edin Dzeko to receive a long sentence for crimes committed against Bosnian Croats in Konjic and Jabhlanica in 1993.

During their presentation of evidence, which lasted about seven months, the Defence presented evidence which deny Dzekos guilt and thus challenged the witness testimonies of the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina who were accusing Dzeko.

Due to the defendants illness, the Trial Chamber separated the case against Zulfikar Alispago from the case against other five persons charged with crimes committed in Trusina, the municipality of Konjic.
