The war crime trial of former Bosnian Army serviceman Samir Bejtic, which has restarted four times and lasted over 12 years, could cost the state more than 1.5 million euros, his lawyer claimed.

The Bosnian state court has fined attorney Bajro Cilic 3,000 BAM for being in contempt of the court at a trial dealing with wartime crimes committed in the Livno area. Cilic as removed from the courtroom and the examination of a state prosecution witness was interrupted upon his expulsion.

Testifying at the Ratko Mladic trial, defense witness Per Oien confirmed that an investigation undertaken by UN military observers couldn’t determine who fired a grenade that killed and wounded several citizens at the Markale Market in Sarajevo during the summer of 1995.
Some war crime trials held before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been postponed for several months due to absence of witnesses, various procedures or illness of defendants.
The state court has sentenced Ramiz Avdovic and Iulian Nicolae Vintila to three and two years in prison for crimes committed in the former Viktor Bubanj barracks in Sarajevo.
