Testifying at the trial of seven Bosniak defendants charged with crimes in the Hadzici area, a defense witness said she noted down statements given by Serbs accused of illegal arms possession in Tarcin and Pazaric.
As the Momir Tomas trial continues at the cantonal court of Sarajevo, defense witnesses said they knew the defendant and that he was wounded in late November 1992, the time of his alleged crimes.
The Bosnian state court has referred two cases to the cantonal court of Sarajevo for further processing. One case deals with wartime crimes committed in Sarajevo, the other with crimes committed in the Hadzici and Ilidza area.
A defense witness testified at the trial of eight former members of Bosniak military and police formations charged with war crimes in the municipality of Hadzici. Testifying in Fadil Covic’s defense, the witness, who worked on his farm in Pazaric during the war, said he was arrested on May 24, 1992 and was released on the same day by the defendant.
Former Bosnian Army serviceman Dzevad Salcin was sentenced to two years in prison for cutting off part of a Serb prisoner of war’s ear on Mount Igman above Sarajevo in 1993.
After a trial that has lasted more than two years, the Bosnian state court will hand down a verdict in the case of Dzevad Salcin, a former member of the Bosnian Army charged with crimes on Mount Igman in the municipality of Hadzici. The verdict has been scheduled for January 21.
The trial of eight former members of Bosniak military and police formations charged with war crimes in the Hadzici area continued with the presentation of material evidence by Mustafa Djelilovic’s defense.
The announcement of the verdict in the Dzevad Salcin trial has been postponed by the Bosnian state court. A new date will be set at a later stage. Salcin has been charged with committing war crimes on Mount Igman.
The defense of Mustafa Djelilovic, a former Bosniak fighter charged with prisoner abuse in Hadzici, presented material evidence on official military and police functions and problems related to prisoner exchanges.
The Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has repealed the acquittal in the Azemin Sadikovic case. Sadikovic has been charged with war crimes against civilians in the Hadzici area in May 1992.
