Material Evidence Presented at Milomir Vasic Trial
The prosecution presented, among other evidence, records on the defendant’s military registration, a death registry entry and a report on determining identity following the identification of mortal remains.
The prosecution proposed that the findings and opinion presented by court expert Zdenko Cirhlaz be filed as evidence. Vasic’s defense objected, requesting that the court allow Cirhlaz’s cross examination by the defense.
The trial chamber then decided to invite Cirhlaz to court for cross-examination.
According to the indictment, Vasic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, escorted detained civilian Ahmet Huseinovic out of a school gym in Bratunac on May 11, 1992. Vasic then allegedly killed Huseinovic by shooting him with his handgun.
The trial will continue on January 29, when the first defense witness will be examined.
