Defense attorney Zorana Carkic requested that Gojkovic be examined in the absence of the public, as he intended to mention the names of protected witnesses in the case.
The trial chamber accepted the proposal and excluded the public from the hearing.
Gojkovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, allegedly raped a woman in the Grbavica neighbourhood of Sarajevo and violated wartime conventions on the treatment of civilians in September 1992.
