Indictment for Gorazde Crimes Confirmed Against Three Former Police Officials
Merkez, Bogunic and Huric have been charged with ordering and participating in the murder and detention of more than a hundred civilians between the ages of 7-70 in the Gorazde area, from July 1992 to the second half of February 1993.
According to the charges, Merkez was the chief of the public safety station in Gorazde and a member of the wartime presidency of the Gorazde municipal assembly, Bogunic was the chief of the public safety station in Gorazde and Huric was the commander of the police station in Gorazde.
They have been charged with committing crimes while executing unlawful orders issued by the presidency of the Gorazde municipal assembly as well as verbal orders given by president Hadzo Efendic, to detain the local Serb civilian population from the village of Bucje on the premises of the public safety station in Gorazde.
The indictment was filed on December 28, 2015, and was confirmed on January 7, 2016.
