Among other counts, the indictment alleges that Sasa Savinovic, a former member of the Benko Penavic Convicts Battalion of the Anti-Terrorist Group, participated in the murder and forcible resettlement of the Bosniak civilian population in the Mostar area from May 1993 until the end of 1993.

The state prosecution previously accused Savinovic and three other members of the Croatian Defense Council with killing four Bosniak civilians, including an infant, in Mostar. Their bodies were found in the Bijeli Brijeg area.

Savinovic, acting in collaboration with other Croatian Defense Council members, has also been charged with deporting a family of three to the eastern part of Mostar in August 1993. He allegedly drove them to the division line and then fired bullets into the air while they fled.

Savinovic was arrested in late October 2015. He was released a month later under prohibitive measures.
