Under the unconfirmed indictment, Acimovic has been charged with participating in a joint criminal enterprise which included the forcible resettlement of 40,000 Bosniak civilians from Srebrenica and the murder of more than 8,000 men and boys.
According to the state prosecution, Acimovic carried out an order issued by the Command of the Zvornicka Brigade and the Main Headquarters of the Bosnian Serb Army to execute the civilians. The defendant allegedly had the civilians, blindfolded and tied, escorted from a school building in Rocevic to a gravel pit on the banks of the Drina river in Kozluk. They were executed at the gravel pit.
“On that occasion at least 1,040 Bosniak men and boys were killed. After that their bodies were buried in gravel cavities as unmarked mass graves,” the state prosecution announced.
The indictment has been filed with the Bosnian state court for confirmation.
