According to the charges, the defendants detained local Serb residents from the villages of Potpec and Jasenica in Rapatnica and Luke, where they were abused and tortured, from June-August 1992.

Ekrem Ibracevic is the former chief of military security at the Municipal Headquarters of the Territorial Defense in Srebrenik. Faruk Smajlovic and Sejdalija Covic are former members of the military police.

At today’s hearing, prosecutor Zorica Djurdjevic presented identification cards issued by the International Red Cross to several witnesses who were detained in Rapatnica, as well as lists of military police officers and armed forces in Srebrenik.

Reports on the handover of weapons in the villages of Potpec and Jasenica, the “cleansing” of the area from enemy forces and the surrender of residents in the village of Brezje, were also included in the case file.

Djurdjevic also presented three short video recordings, depicting Ibracevic talking about the surrender, the work of the military police and the way in which the enemy was fought.

The trial chamber rejected some of the material evidence presented by the prosecution at the last hearing, mainly due to their irrelevance. Djurdjevic gave up the presentation of more than 40 documents today.

The trial will continue on November 17, when statements given by the defendants during the investigation will be read.
