Defense attorney Aleksandar Majkalovic said the state prosecution had given up on two counts in the revised indictment, and said the defense had no new evidence to propose. It was not specified which charges the prosecution had given up on.

The state prosecution has charged Begovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, with participating in the assault of Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war in the Batkovic detention center in the summer of 1992.

Begovic was tried according to the indictment, which charges him with beating and forcing prisoners to have sexual intercourse in the summer of 1992.

The state prosecution will present its closing statement on November 18.
