Trial chamber chair Pasa Softic said the beginning of the trial was postponed due to the time needed for the extradition of Milisav Trifkovic from Serbia. Milisav Trifkovic has been charged with the same crimes in Serbia.

Softic said she would ask the Ministry of Justice in Serbia to speed up the extradition of Milisav Trifkovic.

Miodrag Trifkovic, a former member of the Osmacki Battalion of the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with war crimes against civilians, as well as the persecution and murder of the Bosniak population in the village of Jelovo Brdo in the municipality of Kalesija.

The indictment against Trifkovic was filed in December 2008.
