Tahirovic said he was incapable of following the trial because he wasnt allowed his methadone treatment at the Sarajevo prison prior to his arrival at the court.
I didnt take my therapy, so I dont feel well. They didnt give me my therapy this morning, because the guards dont take me seriously. They wanted to give it to me later, but I didnt want to take it, Tahirovic said.
Trial chamber chairman Slavko Pavlovic said he would order a psychiatric examination of the defendant in order to determine under what conditions Tahirovic could attend the trial.
Mirsad Tahirovic, also known as Deba, is a former member of the Zulfikar Special Purposes Squad of the Headquarters of the Main Command of the Bosnian Army. Tahirovic has been charged with participating in the torture, physical abuse and humiliation of Croat civilians and prisoners who were held at the Battle for the Wounded Museum and at the Rogica Houses in Jablanica during 1993.
The next hearing will be scheduled once Tahirovics expert examination has been completed.
