Three War Crime Verdicts Expected Next Week

On Tuesday, April 14, the Bosnian state court will pronounce a verdict against Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic, who’ve been accused of committing crimes against Serb detainees in Dretelj in 1992.
On Friday, April 17, a verdict in the Indira Kameric trial is expected to be announced. Kameric has been charged with participating in the torture of Serb and Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war on police premises and at the Polet stadium in Bosanski Brod in 1992.
On the same day, a verdict will be announced in the Ibro Macic case. Macic, a former member of the Bosnian Army, has been charged with the murder of four old women in the village of Blace in the municipality of Konjic. He has also been accused of crimes against detainees in the Musala detention camp in Konjic.
The trial of Dusan Milunic, Radomir Stojnic, Radovan Cetic, Dusko Zoric, Zoran Stojnic, Zeljko Grbic, Ilija Zoric, Zoran Milunic, Bosko Grujicic, Ljubisa Cetic, Rade and Uros Grujcic, Zdravko Antonic and Rajko Gnjatovic will also begin on Friday, April 17. The defendants have been charged with participating in an attack on the village of Zecovi in the municipality of Prijedor in 1992, in which more than 150 people were killed.
On Friday, April 17, the trial of Goran Maksimovic, Ljiljan Mitrovic, Slavko Peric, Mile Vujevic, Vukasin Draskovic, Gojko Stevanovic, Cvjetko Popadic, Rajo Lazarevic and Mico Manojlovic will begin. The defendants have been charged with the murders of civilians in Zvornik.
On the same day, the defense of Dzevad Dulic will begin presenting its evidence. Dulic has been charged with crimes in the Cazin area.
Plea hearings in the case of Dragan Dopudja, charged with crimes in Bihac, as well as in the case of Perica Kustura, charged with crimes in Gornji Vakuf, are also scheduled for Friday.
The trial of Goran Mrdja, Milorad Mrdja, Ranko Mrdja, and Mile Kokot will begin on Monday, April 13. The defendants have been charged with participating in crimes against Bosniak victims, including acts of murder, rape, assault, theft and other types of mental and physical abuse in the Sanski Most area.
Eso Macic, a former member of the Bosnian Army, is expected to appear before the appellate chamber of the Bosnian state court on Thursday. The Constitutional Court previously quashed a previous verdict against him for crimes in the Konjic area due to the wrong application of law. On the same day, the first prosecution witnesses are expected to appear at the trial of Dragomir Vasic, Miodrag Josipovic, Branimir Tesic, Danilo Zoljic and Radomir Pantic, who have been charged with genocide in Srebrenica.
The trial of Oliver Krsmanovic will continue on Tuesday, April 14. Krsmanovic has been charged with crimes in the Visegrad area. On Tuesday’s hearing, part of a documentary will be screened in the courtroom and additional evidence will be presented by the prosecution.
Trials for crimes committed in Srebrenica, Vogosca, Kotor-Varos, Rogatica, Teslic, Vitez, Bihac, Zvornik, Bileca, Bosanski Brod, Mostar, Bijeljina, Cajnice, Stolac, Capljina, Hadzici, Prozor, Kalinkovik and Cazin will continue next week at the Bosnian state court next.
