Raguz Retrial Begins Next Week

The retrial of Veselko and Ivo Raguz will begin at the appellate chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday, March 25. Veselko and Ivo Raguz are charged with crimes in the Stolac and Capljina area.

Under a first instance verdict, Veselko and Ivo Raguz were acquitted of charges involving the arrest and detention Bosniak men from the Stolac area, the forcible resettlement of women and children, and the physical abuse and torture of civilians in Dretelj in 1993.

On Friday, March 27, the Bosnian state prosecution will present its closing statement at the Ibro Macic trial. Macic has been charged with murder, abuse, and torture in the municipality of Konjic.

The defense of Goran Popovic will present its closing statement on Wednesday, March 25. Popovic has been charged with crimes committed in the Uzamnica detention camp near Visegrad.

On Monday, March 23, Senad Hakalovic’s defense will present its closing statement. Hakalovic has been charged with crimes in the village of Trusina near Konjic. Hakalovic is on trial with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic and Nihad Bojadzic, for murders committed in Trusina.

On Tuesday, March 24, a plea hearing will be held in the case of Goran Maksimovic, Ljiljan Mitrovic, Radivoje Djordjic, Slavko Peric, Mile Vujevic, Vukasin Draskovic, Gojko Stevanovic, Cvjetko Popadic, Rajo Lazarevic and Mico Manojlovic, who have been charged with an attack against the Bosniak civilian population in the municipality of Zvornik.

Jadranko Saran, Fahrudin Hadziosmanovic-Tadzic, Samir Sabic and Zijad Kadic, accused of having committed crimes against civilians in Bosanska Krupa, as well as Joja Plavanjac and Zdravko Narancic, charged in another case with having committed crimes in the same town, are expected to enter their pleas onThursday, March 26.

Mustafa Djelilovic’s defense will begin presenting its evidence on Thursday, March 26. Djelilovic has been charged with crimes in the Hadzici area, along with Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic, and Nermin Kalember.

Three trials regarding the Srebrenica genocide will continue next week. The trial of Goran Saric will continue on Monday, the trial of Aleksandar Cvetkovic will continue on Tuesday, and the trial of Ostoja Stanisic and Marko Milosevic will continue on Wednesday.

The Petar Kovacevic trial will continue on Monday, March 23. Kovacevic is charged with crimes in Visegrad.

The trials of Goran Vujovic, Miroslav Duka, and Zeljko Ilic for crimes in Bileca; Ekrem Ibracevic, Faruk Smajlovic and Sejdalija Covic for crimes in Srebrenik; and Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, charged with rape in the Kotor-Varos area; will continue on Tuesday, March 24.

On Tuesday, March 24, the following trials will continue: the trial of Marijan Brnjic, Martin Barukcic, Pavo Glavas, and Ilija Glavas, who have been charged with the rape of Serb women in Odzak; and the trial of Enes Curic, Ibrahim Demirovic, Samir Kreso, Habib Copelj, and Mehmed Kaminic, who have been indicted for crimes in Mostar.

On Wednesday, March 25, the following trials will continue: the trial of Mato Condric, charged with crimes in the Bosanski Brod area; the trial of Gligor Begovic, charged with crimes committed in the Batkovic detention camp near Bijeljina; and the trial of Zoran Bjelica and Novica Tripkovic, charged with crimes committed in Kalinovik.

On Thursday, March 26, new prosecution witnesses will be examined at the trial of Dragan Marjanovic, Sasa Gavranovic, Vitomir Devic, Dario Slavuljica, Dragomir Kezunovic and Zoran Sljuka, who have been charged with the murder of civilians on Mount Borje, near Teslic.

On Friday, March 27, the following trials will continue: the trial of Pero Radisic, charged with crimes in Teslic; the trial of Mitar and Rade Vlasenko and Drago Koncar, charged with crimes in the Prijedor area; and the trial of Srecko Boskovic, charged with murder in the Zvornik area.

The trials of Jasmin Coloman, for the murder of Croats in the Vitez area, and Zaim Lalicic, for crimes in the municipality of Ilidza, are also scheduled to continue on Friday.
