The appellate chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina reduced Mirsad Sijak’s unified sentence of two war crimes by two months.

The appellate chamber of the Bosnian state court made the decision after Sijak filed an appeal against the initial unified sentence of seven years and 11 months, requesting that the sentence be reduced.

The state court sentenced Sijak to seven years in prison for the rape of a Croat woman in Vares in 1993. The Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sentenced him to one year in prison for having committed a war crime.

Sijak is serving his sentence in the Zenica prison.
