Trial for Crimes in Hrasnica Begins Next Week

On Tuesday, February 24, the Bosnian state prosecution and the defense will present their closing statements at the Zeljko Jukic retrial. The retrial is taking place at the appellate chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under a first instance verdict, Jukic was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the abuse and robbery of civilians in Prozor in 1993.
Next week, closing statements will be presented at the retrial of Sabo Babic. Under a first instance verdict, Babic was acquitted of charges for crimes allegedly committed at the Vuk Karadzic school building in Bratunac.
On Wednesday, February 25, appeals against the verdict in the Abduladhim Maktouf case will be presented before the appellate chamber. Maktouf was sentenced to five years in prison for crimes committed in Travnik during the Bosnian war. The retrial of Maktouf was held due to a wrong application of law.
On Wednesday, February 25, appeals will be presented against the Branko Vlaco verdict. Vlaco was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for crimes committed in detention facilities in the Vogosca area.
On Thursday, February 26, Radosav Malinovic will issue his plea to the court. Malinovic has been charged with rape in the Srebrenica area.
On Tuesday, February 24, Edib Buljubasic will continue presenting his closing statements. Buljubasic is accused of alleged crimes committed in Dretelj, near Capljina. Ivan Zelenika, Srecko Herceg, Ivan Medic, and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic are on trial for the same crime.
On Monday, February 23, Ilija Juric, will appear before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Juric is charged with rape and the mistreatment of Serb civilians in Odzak in 1992.
On Monday, February 23, Petar Kovacevic’s trial will continue. Kovacevic is accused of crimes allegedly committed in the Visegrad area.
On Monday, February 23, Slavko Savic’s trial will continue. He has been charged with rape in the Vogosca area.
On Tuesday, February 24, the Oliver Krsmanovic will continue. Krsmanovic stands accused of crimes allegedly committed in Visegrad.
On Tuesday, February 24, the trial of Marijan Brnjic, Martin Barukcic, Pavo and Ilija Glavas will continue. They stand charged with alleged crimes committed in Odzak.
On Wednesday, February 25, the trial of Vitomir Rackovic is expected to take place. Rackovic is accused of crimes allegedly committed in the Visegrad area.
On Thursday, February 26, Goran, Milorad, and Ranko Mrdja, and Mile Kokot, are expected to appear before the state court. They stand accused of alleged crimes committed in the Sanski Most area.
On Thursday, February 26, the Nihad Bojadzic trial will continue with the examination of new defense witnesses. Bojadzic stands accused of crimes allegedly committed in Jablanica.
On Thursday, February 26, the trial of Nedzad Hodzic and Dzevad Salcin will continue. Hodzic and Salcin are accused of crimes allegedly committed on Mount Igman. The Nikola Maric trial will continue on the same day. Maric stands accused of crimes allegedly committed in Prozor.
On Friday, February 27, the Ibro Macic trial will continue. Macic is accused of crimes allegedly committed in Konjic. The Srecko Boskovic trial will continue on the same day. Boskovic is charged with the murder of a boy on the Petkovac dam in the municipality of Zvornik.
