Judge and trial chamber chairman Zoran Bozic said that the witness promised the witness support officers that he would appear, but he didn’t pick up his phone prior to the start of the hearing.

Prosecutor Predrag Tomic said that the witness came to the offices of the Bosnian state prosecution and had said that he intended to testify. Tomic said the court should send the witness new summons, and not apprehend him.

Boskovic, a former member of the Army of Republika Srpska, has been charged with having killing a boy in the village of Djulici in 1995. The indictment alleges that as Serb soldiers were hunting down Bosniaks following the fall of Srebrenica, Boskovic told the boy that he was free to go. When the boy walked away, Boskovic killed him by shooting him with an automatic weapon.

The trial has been postponed until February 20, when two prosecution witnesses will be examined.
