At today’s hearing of the Nezir Kazic trial, the state prosecution presented to the court documents allegedly signed by the defendant.
Due to the large number of documents presented, prosecutor Zorica Djurdjevic did not explain their content. Nezir Kazic’s defense attorney, Milorad Rasevic, said that the signatures in those documents do not belong to his client.
“I object to a number of documents, which are said to have been signed by Nezir Kazic. I am saying that it isn’t true,” said Rasevic.
Kazic, Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Becir Hujic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic and Nermin Kalember have been charged with crimes committed at the Silos detention camp, the Krupa military barracks, and the 9 Maj school building.
The indictment alleges that Kazic was Commander of the 9th Mountain Brigade of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Hujic was the manager and deputy manager of Silos, as was Halid Covic. Mesanovic was one of the deputy managers of Silos and also a manager of a detention camp at the Krupa barracks, while Kalember was a guard in Silos. The other defendants were members of civil and police authorities.
At this hearing the prosecution included about 180 pieces of material evidence in the case file. Some of them refer to the way detainees from Hadzici were treated. Prosecutor Djurdjevic did not explain the content of those documents either.
The defense teams objected to the authenticity of some of the documents presented by the prosecution.
The date of the next hearing will be set at a later stage.
