Testifying before the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, Bosko Bogadanovic said that he went to a frontline in Milinkladska Street on June 5 or 6, 1992. He said that his brother Slobodan was among the eight people, who were on that frontline.
“We stayed there until June 15. We did not leave the line in order to go home during that period. All of us were present there,” the witness said.
Slobodan Bogdanovic is on trial, along with Goran Sladoje, with having taken Bajro and Suad Besic from their house to a garage, where they hit them, on June 13, 1992. They allegedly then transferred them to the Jewish Cemetery, where they used them as human shields. Suad Besic got killed on that occasion.
When asked by the Defence how he knew the date, when they returned from the frontline in Milinkladska Street, the witness said that he remembered it because of an attack on the Vrbanja bridge, Jewish Cemetery and Zlatiste area on June 12.
Witness Bogdanovic said that he was mobilized by reserve police forces at the beginning of the war and that he served in the forces until June 15, 1992. He said that he had never heard, prior to the trial, about his brother being associated with the Besics.
Second Defence witness Rajko Tusevljak said that he was in Milinkladska Street from June 5 to June 13 or 14, 1992.
“During that period of time, we would occasionally go home. We would stay at home for two or three hours,” Tusevljak said.
He confirmed that the attack on Kovacici and the Jewish Cemetery was conducted on June 13 or 14, 1992.
The trial is due to continue on December 16 with examination of two second indictee’s Defence witnesses.
