At the trial for crimes in Kotor-Varos the Prosecution reads a witness’ statement, saying that indictee Ostoja Markovic was among the persons, who confiscated a minivan owned by her son, while threatening them with guns.

Serifa Lihovic, who was not able to appear in the courtroom due to bad health, said, in her statement given to Bihac police on May 26,2010, that she had known Ostoja Markovic from before as her neighbor and that the two families were in good relations.

As she said, in June 1992 he came in front of her house together with a few other persons.

“They were dressed in camouflage uniforms and armed with automatic guns. They called us out of the house. I came out with my son. They asked him to give them the keys of our minivan. At that moment their rifles were pointed towards us. When he gave them the keys, they drove away,” the witness said.

She said that her son’s minivan was red and white and that she had not seen it afterwards.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, charges Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic, former members of Kotor-Varos Brigade with the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having raped a minor on the territory of Kotor-Varos municipality.

The indictment alleges that she was raped in a minivan and that the indictee and another person raped her several times, while the vehicle was moving.

The trial is due to continue on December 2.
