Demirovic is charged, as commander of the 47th Mountain Brigade of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with coming to the school in the village of Potoci, where Croat civilians were illegally detained, between July and November 1993.

Among the civilians, the prosecutor believes, there were women, children and elderly.

“He is charged with taking Plaintiff B out of the building on several occasions and moving her to nearby houses, where he raped her several times under threat, saying that in case she resisted he would let her be raped by several soldiers,” said the prosecution.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected a request from the Bosnian prosecution to order Demirovic into custody and released him with prohibiting measures.

The indictment was filed against Demirovic on September 17, charging him, together with Enes Curic, Samir Kreso, Habib Copelj and Mehmed “Zaim” Kaminic, with abusing Croat civilians in the school in Potoci in 1993.
