“Witness S-2 submitted findings and opinion by a specialist. We have decided to conduct an expert examination of the findings in order to determine whether the witness is capable of coming to the Court,” said Mira Smajlovic, Chairwoman of the Trial Chamber of the Court of BiH.

Sekaric’s trial was also postponed on September 5, because protected witness S-2 did not appear in the courtroom. At that occasion the Chamber was informed that protected witness S-2 was at hospital.

Indictee Sekaric said that S-2 performed her “regular duties” and that he considered that she could have come to the trial.

Prosecutor Seid Marusic said that witnesses S-2 and S- 4 were the last ones whom the Prosecution wanted to examine.

The trial of Sekaric was postponed on September 8 as well because witness S-4 refused to testify. The Court ordered him to pay fine in the amount of KM 20,000 because of that.

Smajlovic said that the decision on fining the witness was still not legally-binding.

Sekaric, former member of the Territorial Defence and “Osvetnik” paramilitary formation, is charged with having participated in an attack on Lozje village, Gorazde municipality, as well as the murders, rape and physical abuse of non-Serb civilians in Visegrad.

The trial is due to continue on September 22.
