The state prosecution and the defense of Dragan Sekaric has asked the appeals chamber of the Bosnian state court to repeal the verdict in the Sekaric case. Sekaric was sentenced to 14 years in prison for acts of murder and rape committed in the Visegrad area during the summer of 1992.

Former Bosnian Serb Army soldier Dragan Sekaric was sentenced to 14 years in prison for rape and murder in the village of Kosovo Polje in the Visegrad municipality in 1992.

After a trial that nearly lasted a year, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will soon be issuing its verdict on the Dragan Sekaric case. Former Bosnian Serb fighter Sekaric has been indicted for crimes against humanity committed in Gorazde and Visegrad during the Bosnian war.

Defense attorney Borislav Jamina requested that the court release his client, Dragan Sekaric, on the grounds that the prosecution has not proven any of the charges made against him.
