Jovo Todorovic, who used to live in Kasatici village, Hadzici municipality, before the war, told the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo that he was captured on May 25, 1992 and taken to Silos in Tarcin, where he was held for two-and-a-half years.

“I was taken to another location in order to perform labour in February 1993. The man known as Maca escorted us. On that occasion Maca told me: ‘I slaughtered the Milosevics’,” Todorovic said, adding that he had not seen him since.

The witness recalled that, while they were in the cells, detainees used to say that Maca had “slaughtered” members of the Milosevic family. Todorovic said that he would be able to recognise Maca.

When asked whether he knew Azemin Sadikovic, the witness said that he used to know his father and that “Azemin was a little boy”.

Sadikovic, former member of the armed forces of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, is charged with having killed four Serb civilians in Kasatici village in May 1992.

Testifying in defence of Sadikovic, second witness Ljubo Krstic said that he heard that members of Milosevic family had been slaughtered and that rumours said that a man known as Maca had killed them.

Responding to questions by Cantonal Prosecutor Dragan Slijepcevic, the witness confirmed that his late brother informed him that the Milosevic family members had been killed and that rumours said that a member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina had cut off Srdjan Milosevic’s genitals, while the other family members had been slaughtered.

As per a proposal by the Defence, attorney Ismet Mehic testified at this hearing as well. In 2007 Mehic was an ex-officio defence attorney of Admir Kalem, who was suspected of the same crime charged upon Sadikovic.

Mehic said that he conducted an investigation and determined that Izet Husic, also known as Maca, was the perpetrator of that crime, so the investigation against Admir Kalem was discontinued.

The trial is due to continue on April 8.
