According to the Defence of Oliver Krsmanovic, the Prosecutor’s office of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY asked The Hague Chamber to reconsider their decision made in February this year, which approved that some witnesses protective measures be removed.

The Defence said they hoped that a decision would be made by March 10, when Krsmanovic is scheduled to undergo surgery.

The Bosnian State court sent a request to The Hague tribunal in October last year, seeking approval to contact ten witnesses with previously granted protective measures.

The indictment charges Krsmanovic, former member of the Second Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade of the Bosnian Serb army, of taking part in murders, rapes, torture and other inhumane acts against Bosniak civilians.

A new status conference is scheduled for April 1.
