Bosnian Court Postpones Two Verdicts

The Bosnian State Court has postponed the passing of two high-profile war crimes verdicts to January next year.

The verdicts against Fikret Planincic, Rasim Lisancic, Sead Menzil and Mirsad Vatrac, who are charged with crimes in Serdari village, Kotor-Varos municipality as well as Veselko and Ivo Raguz, who are charged with crimes committed against civilians in Stolac and Capljina will be passed on January 13 next year.

Both verdicts were scheduled for December 30 this year and the Court gave no reason for their postponement.

Planincic, Lisancic, Menzil and Vatrac are charged with having participated in an attack on Serdari village on September 17, 1992, when 16 Serb civilians were killed. According to the State Prosecution’s charges, all four were members of the Territorial Defence at that time.
 
Veselko and Ivo Raguz, are charged with crimes committed against civilians in Stolac and Capljina in July and August 1993.
 
According to the charges, Veselko Raguz ordered, assisted or directly participated in the unlawful arrests and detention of civilians, resettlement of Bosniak women and children and physical abuse and torture of civilians. The Prosecution alleges that Ivo Raguz participated in the physical abuse of detained civilians.
