Medical expert Zorica Lazarevic told the Sarajevo-based court that based on medical documentation she found that Kornjaca was an alcohol addict between April and May 1992.

“Due to his addiction, his awareness of his actions was reduced, but he was capable of understanding the criminal nature of his actions”, said Lazarevic.

Answering questions of Prosecutor Dzevad Muratbegovic, Lazarevic said she did not know the “exact alcoholic state” in which the defendant was in the spring of 1992.

Kornjaca, former commander of the paramilitary group “Blue Eagles”, is on trial for crimes in Cajnice in April and May 1992.

His trial will continue on January 15, when the Bosnian prosecution will present additional evidence.
