Testifying in defence of Mladjenovic, Milovoje Jokic said that he was mobilised by reserve police forces of the Public Safety Station in Bratunac in mid April 1992. He said that he was at a checkpoint, which was about a kilometre away from Glogova village, in May 1992, adding that he saw Najdan Mladjenovic on May 9.

The witness said that he heard noise and screams in the morning, but he did not know what was happening. A short time later indictee Najdan Mladjenovic and some other men came to the checkpoint.

“He came by car. He asked us what was going on. He stayed for about ten minutes and left,” Jokic said, adding that the indictee was dressed in civil suit and that he probably left in the direction of Bratunac.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Mladjenovic with having commanded an attack on Glogova village and issued an order to kill more than 20 local Bosniak residents. He is on trial along with Savo Zivkovic, who is charged with having participated in the attacks and deportation of civilians from those villages, as well as destruction of their property.

The trial is due to continue on November 26.
