The witness, Zarko Jaksic, said that Krsmanovic came to the company of the Visegrad Brigade of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), stationed in the Drinsko community centre, in early June 1992, 15 days after he was mobilised.
The witness said that around 50 Serbs were mobilised to Drinsko on May 19 after the Uzice Corps withdrew to Serbia, and they started operating a guard duty in the area.
“Oliver arrived at the unit with his truck. He was mobilised as a truck driver. He also did guard duty when he had free time,” recalled the witness.
He explained that Krsmanovic transported food, ammunition and other necessary supplies for the army.
Jaksic recalled an event from September 5, 1992, when, as he said, the Muslims attacked them. He said that a day before the attack the defendant returned from Uzice, in Serbia, where he visited his wounded father, and that he was in the trench with the witness.
The witness added that the defendant also used a red Lada Niva in which he drove the company commander. He said that Krsmanovic stayed in the company in Drinsko until the end of November or early December 1992.
According to the indictment by the prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a member of the Second Podrinje Light Infantry Brigade of the Army of Republika Srpska, Krsmanovic participated and assisted in murders, rapes and forced disappearances of the Bosniak population in Visegrad.
The second witness, Miladin Savic, said that Krsmanovic joined the company in Drinsko ten days after mobilisation on May 19,1992.
“He was reporting to the company headquarters just like me,” said the witness, adding that the defendant mostly drove a truck.
Savic explained that he kept records for the company, but that the log into which he wrote all the details were burned during the attack of Muslim forces on September 5.
New witnesses for the defence will testify on September 3.
