Rajko Milosevic, former member of the Sixth Battalion of the Army of Republika Srpska (VRS), recalled being at the post on 11 July 1995 when Srebrenica fell, where he also remained in the following days.
According to him, on the day following the fall of Srebrenica, he heard that the prisoners from Srebrenica were put in a new school in Petkovci, but at the time he was not aware what was going to happen to them.
The witness stated that after his company had been discharged for leave he heard rumours that all detainees were murdered, but he did not know who murdered them or where.
The State Prosecution argues that Stanisic, former commander of the Sixth Battalion, and his deputy Milosevic, were aware of the plan to execute prisoners in Srebrenica in 1995. According to the indictment, around one thousand prisoners were murdered at Petkovci dam.
In his replies to questions, the witness stated that he never heard about any of the command officers of the Sixth Battalion issuing any orders in relation to the prisoners.
He added that the Battalion Command was located in the old school in Petkovci.
The trial will continue on 3 April.
