The group of citizens called “Sons of Drina – Pride and Justice” says that the petition has been signed by 4,000 citizens of Gorazde.

“Somebody has to be held responsible for those crimes. We do not want to accuse anybody but we want to prompt the prosecutors’ offices to finally break the deadlock,” says Seja Bavcic, an active member of this group of citizens.

They find it worrying that no verdicts for murders and other crimes in Gorazde have been pronounced so far.

Cantonal Prosecutor Mirsad Bilajac to whom the citizens’ petition was delivered, said that despite numerous cases of criticism against it, the Gorazde Prosecution performed its job and conducted investigations under its jurisdiction.

“Assuredly, we shall invest maximum efforts within our competencies. We are already working on some cases,” Bilajac said.

The petition will also be sent to the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the coming days.
