The Prosecution presented voluminous material documentation, which mainly consists of official notes and photo documentation made by Brcko District police and the Republic Exchange Commission, as well as witnesses’ statements given during the investigation.

Trial Chamber Chairman Nijazija Kalender rejected a proposal by Prosecutor Gojko Stjepanovic to admit, as material evidence, minutes made before the Military Court in Banja Luka on January 1, 1994 and include it in the case file.

The judge accepted an objection by Defence attorney Ohro Music, who said that the minutes indicated that an attorney was present during the examination of the indictee, but the minutes did not contain the attorney’s signature.

An indictment filed by the Military Prosecution in Banja Luka, which was taken over by the Brcko District Prosecution, charges Stjepanovic with several murders, pillaging and the destruction of property in the Bijela, Cerik and Bukvik villages in the vicinity of Brcko.

The Defence said that it gave up the presentation of its evidence.

The presentation of closing statements is due to take place on November 8.
