During a closed session the Chamber discussed the protection measures for the State Prosecution witness, who was supposed to testify against Bozidar Kuvelja. It decided that the trial would be postponed, because it was necessary to appoint a legal counselor to assist the witness.

Kuvelja is charged with having participated in the shooting of about 100 Bosniak captives, who were deceived by being told to come out of the warehouse in order to get medical assistance.

The State Prosecution’s indictment alleges that members of the Jahorina Training Centre fired bursts of bullets at the civilian prisoners in front of the Agricultural Co-operative building in Kravica, while indictee Kuvelja “verified” the murder of each man, who was still alive, by shooting him from an automatic gun.

State Prosecutor Ibro Bulic asked the Trial Chamber again to inform him when it might render a decision concerning the admission of a transcript of statements given by several witnesses, who testified before the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, ICTY.

However, the Court will make the mentioned decision at the next hearing.

The trial is due to continue on January 24, 2012.M.B.
