“The decision has still not been reached due to the complexity of the case. Hence, the date has been postponed,” the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina said.

The verdict against indictees Nisvet Gasal, Musajb Kukavica and Enes Dautovic was originally due to be pronounced on October 26.

At a hearing held on September 27 the Trial Chamber said that the verdict would be pronounced in one month, explaining that the verdict could not be reached within the legally-set timeframe of three days due to the complexity of his case.
The trial of the indictees, who are defending themselves while at liberty under certain prohibiting measures, began in February 2008.

Dautovic is charged with the responsibility for inhumane treatment, murder and torture, as well as taking Croat civilians and HVO members, who were held in the detention camp at the stadium and many other locations in Bugojno, to other locations where they performed forced labour.

The indictment alleges that Dautovic was Commander of the Joint Command, Chief of Police and members of the wartime Presidency of Bugojno. According to the charges, he failed to do anything to prevent those unlawful actions.

Gasal and Kukavica, former Manager of “Iskra” stadium detention camp and Commander of Guards, are charged with inhumane treatment of about 300 HVO members, who were held in detention.

The Court will also need an additional ten days before it can pronounce a verdict against Momir Pelemis and Slavko Peric, who are charged with genocide in Srebrenica. October 31 has been set as the new date for pronouncement of the verdict in that case.
