Macic: Broken Teeth

Novo Mojevic, former detainee in the Musala sports hall, said that Macic hit him with an automatic gun in the mouth and broke six teeth in his upper jaw.

“I was in the locker room. Macic came in and cursed my mother. He then hit me with a gun in the mouth and broke my teeth,” Mojevic said, but he was not able to recognise the indictee in the courtroom.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Macic, former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, with war crimes committed against Serb prisoners of war and civilians in Celebici detention camp and Musala sports hall, Konjic municipality.

According to the charges, Macic participated in the murder of two Serb civilians in Celebici detention camp in 1992 and caused severe bodily injuries to civilians and prisoners of war who were detained in Musala.

In his earlier statements given to the State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other investigative bodies, the witness said that his teeth were broken in the school building in Parsovici, Konjic municipality, where he was detained for two months prior to being transferred to Musala.

“It was a mistake. Later on I started to remember those things,” Mojevic said, adding that his teeth were broken in Musala and saying that the indictee caused the injury.

Mojevic said that he spent about 20 months in Musala, adding that Macic hit him once with a gun during his detention. He said that Macic was dressed in camouflage uniform at the time. The witness said that the indicteee was a guard in Musala and he also went to the front lines.

The trial is due to continue on May 31 this year, when the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina will examine a new witness.
