Vlahovic has been held in custody since August 26, when he was extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina from Spain. The custody was ordered due to the possibility the suspect might seek to flee, influence witnesses and accomplices and disturb public order while at liberty.

Vlahovic is suspected of having committed murders, abuse, robbery, rape and forcibly removing Bosniak and Croat civilians from the Grbavica and Vraca districts of Sarajevo in 1992.

At a hearing at which the custody extension motion was discussed on September 23, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina said the witnesses suffered severe trauma and still feared for their lives.

The suspect did not object to staying in custody.
