Ratko Dronjak, former Commander of Kamenica detention camp, and Dragan Rodic, a former guard in the same detention camp, are suspected of having committed crimes against humanity and crimes against civilians and prisoners-of-war, members of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, who were detained in Kamenica detention camp between 1992 and 1995.

The State Court determined there were grounds to suspect that the men committed the crimes charged upon them. It further determined that if they were allowed to remain at liberty this might represent “a real threat to public order”.

“The Court has made the custody order considering there are specific circumstances indicating that, if released, the suspects would interfere with the criminal proceedings by influencing witnesses and accomplices,” the Court stated.

Dronjak and Rodic were arrested on January 21 this year.
