As requested by the Defence of Ante Kovac, charged with crimes committed in Vitez, the Trial Chamber granted protection measures to two witnesses. The Defence examined the two with no members of the public present. 

The State Prosecution charges Kovac, as commander of the Military Police Squad with the Vitez Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, with having ordered the detention of Bosniak civilians in the premises of Radnicki University, and the cinema hall and public accounting services in Vitez.

The same indictment charges Kovac with taking two women from a detention camp in Vitez in 1993 and raping them.

According to the official schedule of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina the next hearing is due to take place on February 24, 2009.
